Why train with Snel for Valencia
Heat-adjusted pacing
Valencia's December warmth catches northern Europeans off guard. If race-day temperatures climb above 15°C, Snel automatically adjusts your target pace to prevent overheating and protect your PB attempt.
VO2max zones on a PB course
Valencia's flat, fast profile is purpose-built for even splits. Snel calculates your VO2max training zones so every training run is calibrated for your goal pace. On a course this fast, precise pacing is the difference between a PB and a blowup.
Autumn training block
A December race means training through September, October, and November - arguably the best training months in the calendar. Cooling temperatures, crisp mornings, and perfect long-run weather. Snel maximises this golden training window.

Valencia Marathon questions
How do I register for the Valencia Marathon?
Registration opens on the official Valencia Marathon website, typically in spring. No lottery - first-come, first-served. Valencia has grown rapidly in popularity, so register early. Entry fees are very reasonable compared to World Majors.
Will it be too warm for a PB?
Most years, December 6 in Valencia is 10,14°C at race time - excellent conditions. Occasionally it pushes 18°C, which is warm for marathon running. Snel adjusts your target pace for warmer conditions so you pace smartly even if the thermometer is higher than expected.
How does Valencia compare to Berlin for PBs?
Both are dead-flat and fast. Berlin is a World Major with more prestige and a massive field. Valencia is smaller, cheaper, and arguably just as fast. Valencia's December timing also means you can use a spring marathon as a tune-up. Many runners use both strategically.
What makes the finish so special?
The finish line is inside the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex designed by Santiago Calatrava. You run between the white, shell-like buildings with the crowd roaring. It's one of the most visually stunning marathon finishes in the world.
